Aces & Eights
This is the true story of James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok. In his short 39 years, he goes from abolitionist, to lawman, to hero, to vagrant, and to his death holding Aces & Eights, the most famous of all poker hands. He was a vital man, predisposed to quiet times, solitude and yet his violent accuracy with his guns can not be refuted. Contrary to popular belief, he is credited with killing only seven men in a total of eight gunfights. His off times were spent playing poker, drinking and carousing with women often belonging to other men. Towards the end of his life, he did find his true love and marry, but he was to spend less than two weeks with her. A haunting, full-bore Western in the tradition of Howard Hawkes and Sam Peckinpah.
